Women's Fellowship Committee

Welcome from Marcia Johanessen, Chair of the Women's Fellowship Committee.

We are a group of service-oriented women who are dedicated to promoting spiritual fellowship and financial support of the church. All women in our fellowship are welcome to become part of this vital fundraising arm of our church community.

Meeting Times: We meet in the downstairs room of the church the first Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. - noon. Please bring a sack lunch, and we will provide the dessert!

Special Events: We plan and organize the Christmas Bazaar and one Fall Foliage Chicken Pie Supper each year. For dates and times, please visit our Church Events Calendar.

Fundraising: A variety of gift items, such as cookbooks, holiday wreaths, mugs, and afgans, are available to purchase from our church store. If you're looking for meaningful souvenirs of Stowe for friends and family, our store is a great place to start!

Prayer Team Committee

Welcome from Kandy Neil, Chair of the Prayer Team Committee.

We believe that the power of prayer is tangible. It supports us in times of trial, reaches out to us when we are lonely, comforts us when we grieve, gives us hope when we despair, strengthens us as we heal, draws us into community, and deepens our relationship with God. Members of the Prayer Team feel the sense of hope and connection with our Lord that shared prayer offers.

If you have concerns or prayer requests, please contact the Prayer Team so that we can lift you and your loved ones in prayer. God’s loving and healing presence is felt as each prayer is lifted up and shared throughout the “tree."

The Prayer Team leader can write a prayer for you, or you may prepare one of your own. Upon request, a copy of the prayer will be sent to you or the person for whom we're praying. Prayer concerns are kept strictly confidential.

New Prayer Team Members are always welcome to join our loving and dedicated group.

Missions Committee

Welcome from Karen Monsen, Chair of the Missions Committee.

Our committee, through the support of our church members, is dedicated to "Serving Him by Helping Those in Need."

What We Do: Throughout the year, we allocate budgeted, raised and donated funds to various organizations.  We endeavor to find a balance between local, regional and worldwide needs. 

Who We Support: Locally, we provide financial support to a number of nonprofit organizations, including Lamoille Home Health & Hospice, the Community Food Shelf, Clarina Howard Nichols Center, Meals on Wheels, and Partners in Need of Service.

On the state level, we send donations to agencies such as the Lund Family Center, the Committee on Temporary Shelter, the Salvation Army, Vermont Foodbank, the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger, and Covenant Hills Camp.

And we also support several international organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, The Heifer Project, and Church World Service. 
In recent years, our congregation has reached out to help those in need in impoverished countries, such as AIDs orphans in Kenya, the Guatemalan Project, and the New Sudan Education Initiative.

We are always open to ideas and suggestions, and we pray for guidance in our disbursement decisions.

Thankfully, the members of our congregation and church visitors have generously supported special appeals.  These donations help to augment our budget and enable us to achieve our goals of helping those in need in our local and global communities.

Calling & Caring Committee

Welcome from Judy Grosvenor, Chair of the Calling & Caring Committee.

"The son of man came...to give." Matthew 20:28

Our goal is to accompany members of our church family through life with friendship and caring. God gave us a license to care by being Christians.

It is both our privilege and our responsibility through our common faith in Jesus Christ to care about others. We are all trying to follow the example of our Lord Jesus who was so loving and nurturing.

As Calling & Caring members, we’re not sure who benefits the most from these visitations - the caregiver or the one receiving care. It is so gratifying for us to hear someone say, “I enjoyed your visit!”
